Medium-High Volume Bar Code Printers  
Medium to high volume usage can be defined as printing from 500'  labels per day and up.  The printers generally have print speeds up to about 12 inches per second, are all metal construction, have internal rewinders, and can handle large diameter rolls of labels.  Common applications would include heavy duty industrial usage, high volume shipping departments, production line product identification, manufacturing, distribution, and warehouse operations. 

Wide Web Printers  
Heavy duty industrial use printers with applications requiring labels 5 inches or wider. The printers generally have print speeds up to about 8 inches per second, are all metal construction, have internal rewinders, can handle large diameter rolls of labels, and have a 5" to 8½" print width. Common applications would include petro-chemical drum identification,  ODETTE/AIAG auto industry labels, pallet labeling, food processing labels, steel and lumber mill labels.

Specialty Bar Code Printers  
Include Portable printers and plastic card printers.  Common applications for portable printers would include printing shelf labels in grocery stores, receipt printing for routes, inventory labeling, and for any use where a PC is not available.  Card printers are used for producing security card, student ID cards, drivers license, loyalty cards, and many other similar applications.
